Fire Damages Home In Washington County

Hagerstown, Md (KM) Damage is estimated at $175,000 from a house fire Thursday night in Washington County.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says 45 fire fighters were dispatched to the 14300 Luella Place northwest of Hagerstown just before 8:00 PM for a one-story, single family home with a garage on fire. They spent almost an hour bringing the flames under control.  No one was hurt. .

Authorities say the fire originated in the garage, and spread into the home through the ceiling just above the fire sprinkler system. The cause was improperly discarded ashes.
