Frederick, Md (KM) High risk Inmates and those in the Work Release Program  at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center will be vaccinated against COVID-19 beginning next week. The Sheriff’s Office says vaccinations will begin on Tuesday, February 2nd in coordination with the Frederick County Health Department.

Governor Larry Hogan has extended the vaccine eligibility to those in congregate facilities.

“This is an excellent opportunity for us to partner with the Frederick County Health Department and immunize the high risk congregate inmate population,” says Lt. Col. Vic  DeLauter, the Adult Detention Center Warden. “At the conclusion of vaccinating those high risk  inmates who want the vaccine, any surplus will be offered to the correctional officers and staff who have not already received it.”

There are 192 male inmates at the Detention Center, and 13 female inmates.
