Investigation Into Fatal Fire In Hagerstown Continues

Hagerstown, Md (KM) The cause of a deadly house fire in Hagerstown remains under investigation. The blaze at 320 Linganore Avenue claimed the lives of three occupants, and injured two people. City officials say a fire fighter was treated and released for minor injuries at Meritus Medical Center.

The alarm sounded just before 7:00 PM, and fire fighters were on the scene within two minutes. They saw the house, trees and shrubs in the front year engulfed in flames, with an extension of the fire into the house at 322 Linganore Avenue. . The flames were evident on the siding and attic of a neighboring home and were put out quickly.

Fire officials say 41 pieces of apparatus and more than 65 fire fighters responded to the scene.

The Hagestown Fire Marshal’s Office says the investigation into this blaze could take some time.

The Hagerstown Fire Department has some important safety tips to help prevent fires, and to minimize the impact of house fires:

*Have working smoke alarms installed in your house.

*Have an escape plan that includes two ways out.

*When there’s a fire in your home, get out and stay out.

*When there’s a fire, call 911 immediately. Early notification saves lives.
