Frederick, Md (KM) There’s another feedback option for residents who want to comment at Frederick City’s virtual meetings. Officials say as of March 1st, citizens can write a comment on specific items on the agenda during Board of Aldermen meetings, workshops and special meetings. They can even do this prior to the meetings if they don’t have time to wait for their turn to testify while the meeting is underway.

To use this new tool, go to frederickmd.gov/ecomment. Once there, locate  the meeting that interests you, and click “View Agenda.” When the comment icon come sup, click the icon and make a comment. Once the comment is made, city staff and elected officials will check and read it.  All comments become part of the public record.

City officials say you can comment on more than one agenda item for each meeting.

“This is a powerful extension of the City’s  desire to make city government and our meetings as accessible  as possible for our citizens. Citizens can comment on an agenda item prior to or during the meeting  from the comfort of one’s home in order to let City officials and staff know how they feel about a particular issue,” says Mayor Michael O’Connor, in a statement.

The E-comment ends after each agenda items is voted on or discussed during the live broadcast. This services is not available for quasi-judicial proceedings, City officials say.

This  E-comment is opportunity made possible by Granicus.
