Taneytown, Md (KM) A shooting in Taneytown remains under investigation.
State Police say Taneytown Police were dispatched to a home the unit block of York Street at around 1:15 Monday afternoon, and found a woman with a gunshot wound to the arm. The victim identified as Karlie Burkindine, 26, was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for medical treatment. . The suspect fled the scene.
Troopers say the shooter is believed to be a juvenile whose related to the victim. That person’s; name is not being released at this time.
Charges are pending following the outcome of the investigation, and consultation with the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Maryland State Police at the Westminster Barrack responded to the scene, along with the State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, and crime scene technicians from the Forensic Sciences Division.
