Frederick, Md (KM) There are eight taxicab permits available in the City of Frederick. The Taxicab Commission says anyone interested in applying must submit their applications by May 15th, along with a permit fee of $2500 in the form of a certified check.
Each applicant may submit one application for any or all of the eight available permits. If eight or fewer applications are received, the eligible applicant or applicants will be granted the permits. If there are more than eight, a virtual lottery will be held on June 1st. The City’s Taxicab Commission will choose winners by drawing names at random.
To view the taxicab permit application or to pick up a physical copy, you can go the Frederick Police Department Headquarters at 100 West Patrick Street, or the Frederick Police Department’s Professional Services Division at 138 West Patrick Street.
