Frederick Man Arrested For Discharging Firearm At A Park

No one was injured.

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police have charged a man with discharging a firearm in Hill Street Park Sunday night. Gregory Lon Jackson, 33, of Frederick was taken into custody.

Officers responded to the park along 400 Hill Street at around 9:00 PM, and were told by witnesses an individual in a blue sedan was involved in the firearms discharge. They say he was firing into the air, and not at anyone specifically. No one was injured even though there were people in the park at the time, police say.

An officer saw shell casings in Jackson’s car, and police then obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and his home. They found several firearms and other evidence of firearms discharges..

Jackson is charged with two counts of 1st-degree assault;   two counts each of reckless endangerment and reckless endangerment from a car;  one count each of having a handgun on his person, having a handgun in a car and having a loaded handgun in a car. Jackson is also charged with discharging a firearm within city limits.
