MDOT SHA says it’s designed to enhance safety.
Frederick, Md (KM) A project to enhance safety on the Interstate 70 bridge over Route 15 in Frederick County will begin this Sunday.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says crews will install braces to planks underneath the westbound lane of the I-70 bridge. The Work will take place Sundays through Fridays from 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM. It’s expected to continue for two weeks.
As the work is taking place, MDOT SHA will close the right lane of westbound of I-70 and exit 52 which is the southbound Rt 15 and Rt 340 ramp. .
Motorists traveling along westbound I-70 to southbound Rt. 15 will be directed to continue on westbound I-70 and take Exit 49 for Rt 40 Alternate (Old National Pike). Drivers can then turn left at the traffic signal on to westbound Rt 40 Alternate and make another left turn on to eastbound I-70 and proceed to Exit 52.
