Frederick Man Indicted For Killing His Father

Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man charged with killing his father was one of eight people indicted Friday by the Grand Jury. The panel charged Sean Christopher Shifflett, 33, with 1st-degree murder.

The Sheriff’s Office say the defendant’s father, Terry Shifflett, 66, was found deceased inside of a bedroom of his home in the 7000 block of Hames Court on April 27th. Authorities say Terry Shifflett admitted to having a fight with his father. He was take into custody.

Other indictments from the Grand Jury on Friday include:

* Anthony Darnell Beckwith, 23, of Hagerstown, Md, whose charged with possession of a firearm with a felony conviction; illegal possession of a regulated firearm; having a loaded handgun on his person; having a handgun on his person; illegal possession of ammunition; use of a firearm in a crime of violence; reckless endangerment; discharging of a firearm within city limits; and two counts of malicious destruction of property (less than $1000) for an incident which occurred on October 22nd, 2020.

* Michael Shawn Cole, 45,of Frederick, Md, whose charged with 2nd-degree burglary; theft of items worth between  $100 and $1500; malicious destruction of property (more than $1,000)) and 4th-degree burglary for an incident which occurred on February 11th, 2021.

* Zachery Allen Neil Fay, 21, of Mount Airy, Md, whose charged with 2nd-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit 2nd-degree burglary for an incident which occurred on September 17th, 2020.

* Warren Nixon, Jr, 36, of Frederick, Md., whose charged with two counts each of distribution of cocaine: possession with intent to distribute cocaine; and possession of cocaine for incidents which occurred between April 4th, 2021 and April 29th, 2021.

*Elmer Henson Smallwood, Jr., 58, of Frederick, Md, whose charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine; possession of cocaine; possession of buprenorphine; possession of fentanyl; driving without a license; driving while suspended; possession of cocaine with intent to distribute; possession of cocaine; possession with intent to distribute fentanyl; possession of fentanyl; possession of paraphernalia (digital scales); possession with intent to distribute cocaine; possession of cocaine; possession of fentanyl; possession of paraphernalia (digital scale) for incidents which occurred on February 26th, 2021, April 29th, 2021 and May 11th, 2021.

* Caisha Renee Luna-Sanchez, 42, of Brunswick, Md, whose charged with child  abuse offenses for an incident which occurred on April 13th, 2021.

*William Allen Spencer, Jr., 38, of Gwynn Oak, Md, whose charged with possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime; drug distribution with a firearm; possession of drugs with a firearm; possession of a firearm in a crime of violence with a felony conviction; Two counts of illegal possession of a regulated firearm; possession with intent to distribute heroin; possession with intent to distribute cocaine; possession with intent to distribute fentanyl; possession with intent to distribute a fentanyl and heroin mix; knowingly   altering  a firearm’s identification number; having a loaded handgun in a vehicle; illegal possession of ammunition; possession of heroin; possession of cocaine; possession of fentanyl and possession Tramadol for an incident which occurred on April 22nd, 2021.

The indictments move these cases to Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.
