These cases now move to Circuit Court.
Frederick, Md (KM) Six indictments were returned on Friday by the Frederick County Grand Jury.
One was against Joshua Andrew Fisher, 28, of Thurmont, whose charged with 1st-degree assault, and 2nd-degree assault. State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says on May 14th, 2021, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the Wal Mart on Guilford Drive for a fight.in progress. “Apparently, there was male that ran over a female with a bike, then bit her on the ear. They came over there. They were able to locate the victim. And this was sort of a DV {domestic violence} out in public. She had indicated that she was strangled by the defendant earlier in the day, and then this fight broke out over by the Wal Mart,” Smith says.
Another indictment was returned against Michael Andrew King, 34, of Frederick, who faces a long list of drug offenses. connected with marijuana, cocaine, heroin and Buprenorphine, and included possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith says King was arrested on May 14th, 2021 after police served a search warrant at a room at the Econo-Lodge on FSK Drive. “Basically, they went in there because they saw a lot of drug sales happening over there. So they got a bunch of cell phones; they got some air soft guns and multiple baggies of drugs including a lot of cocaine, some heroin, and five pounds of marijuana,” he says. “So they were busy dealing out of the FSK Econo-Lodge over there.”
Richard Thomas Spencer III, 19, of Frederick was indicted for two counts each of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, robbery, 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault; and one court of theft between $100 to $1500. Smith says these charges stem from an incident on December 20th, 2020 in the 600 block of North Bentz Street in Frederick. “Essentially, the victims arranged to buy a THC cartridge. The defendants thought otherwise. So they used a handgun to threaten them, assault them. They wind up pistol-whipping two victims inside their car,” he says.
Also indicted was William Chase Meador, 27, of Walkersville, whose charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of cocaine. Smith says this follows an incident on November 5th, 2020. “This is just a simple Sheriff’s Office traffic stop. They wind up running a canine around the vehicle. They found cocaine inside the vehicle. So he has a felony possession with intent to distribute cocaine because it was sufficient in quantity to indicate that,” he says.
Two defendants from West Virginia were indicted by the Frederick County Grand Jury on Friday. Colton Lemar Pitman, 32, of Charles Town, and Ethan Scott Delph, 28, of Harpers Ferry are both charges with weapons and drug offenses. Smith says both were arrested on May 10th in Frederick County following a traffic stop by Maryland State Police. “Unfortunately, for them, once they were stopped, troopers recovered a 380 handgun. Unfortunately for the defendants, they are both prohibited {possessing firearms} due to previous convictions,” he says. “In addition to the handguns, they found cocaine, marijuana and a large amount of cash.”
These indictments moves these cases to Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.
