Temporary traffic light is expected to be removed on Wednesday,.
Baltimore, Md (KM) The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says on Wednesday, the original traffic pattern for the Route 56 (Big Pool Road) bridge over Interstate 70 in Washington County will be restored. Crews will be working on the bridge deck, and expect to remove the temporary traffic signal by the end of the day.
The lane shift is part of an effort to rehabilitate the span which was originally constructed in 1964. SHA says the bridge is safe, but the surface is nearing the end of its useful life.
