Demolition work expected to begin on Wednesday.
Frederick, Md (KM) it’s stood for many years towering above nearby homes, but it’s coming down. The City of Frederick says the demolition of the old water tower along Butterfly Lane is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 9th,
Officials say the metal structure will be cut and dismantled piece by piece, and lowered to the ground with cranes. The work is expected to take about two weeks with the impact on traffic to be minimal.
A new water tank was constructed last year across the street from the current structure.
