Mailbox Explosions In Carroll County Under Investigation

Finksburg, Md (KM) A series of mailbox explosions are under investigation in the Finksburg and Westminster areas of Carroll County.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says it was contacted by the Sheriff’s Office which received complaints about a mailbox explosion in the 1900 block of Mill Green Road on Saturday, May 28th. Three other explosions have been reported;  the latest on one June 5th in the 1200 block of Bollinger Road in Westminster.

 

The mailbox explosions were reported at these addresses:

1900 block of Mill Green Road, Finksburg

2000 block of Carrollton Road, Finksburg

3500 block of Niner Road, Finksburg

1200 block of Bollinger Road, Westminster.

 

Investigators say evidence from the scene indicates fireworks were placed in these mailboxes.

Anyone who has information on these explosions, or whose mailboxes were damaged by an explosion, is asked to call the State Fire Marshal’s Office Northeast Regional Tip Line at 410-386-3050.
