Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Warns Of A Scam

A caller is impersonating a law enforcement officer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam.

It’s where a caller claims to be a senior leader with the Sheriff’s Office and has to serve a warrant. That person also demands a payment with gift cards. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says it will never serve a warrant in this way.

If you receive such a call, hang up and report it to the Sheriff’s Office by calling 301-600-1046.
