Frederick City Offices Closed On Friday For Juneteenth

No payment required on that weekend for parking meters or the city’s parking garages.

Frederick, Md (KM) The City of Frederick says it’s offices will be closed on Friday, June 18th to observe Juneteenth, the day which marks the end of slavery in the United States.

No payment is required at city parking decks or at the parking meters on both Friday and Saturday, June 18th and 19th.  . All routes for residential trash and yard waste collections will remain as scheduled along with business trash collection and recycling services.

The William R. Talley Fitness Center will be open as normal on Friday.

Juneteenth is a day to remember June 19th, 1865, when the Union Army in told the slaves in Texas they were free. It’s observed in 47 states in the US.
