Frederick County Council Approves New Division Directors

Frederick, Md (KM) Two new division directors were approved by the Frederick County Council Tuesday afternoon.

Erin White was chosen at the Director of the Finance Division. She has been serving as acting director since January of this year, and has been a county employee since 2002. White is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Maryland and National Government Finance Officers Association. Prior to working for county government, White was a supervisor of Linton, Schafer and Company in Frederick. . She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Mount Saint Mary’s College in Newburgh, New York.

David Maginnis was appointed as Chief Information Officer for the Division of Interagency Information Technologies. Maginnis joined Frederick County Government in 2018 as Deputy Director of ITT.. Before that, he spent 20 years in the US Air Force, retiring with the rank of Captain. While in the military, Maginnis served in several technology roles, including Chief or the Network Branch and Senior Network Engineer of the National Defense University. Before joining Frederick County Government, Maginnis was president and co-owner of a full service technology company, CBM Systems in Hagerstown., and was a Chief Information Officer for First Community Bank of Mercersbrug, Pennsylvania. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Frostburg State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Science form the University of Maryland University College..

“Erin White and Dave Maginnis bring a wealth of experience and are well-respected as leaders in their fields,” says County Executive Jan Gardner, in a statement. “Their expertise and strong leadership skills are great assets to the County, and I am confident they will excel in their new jobs.”
