He’s being charged as an adult
Frederick, Md (KM) A man is in serious but stable condition after being stabbed early Tuesday morning in Frederick County.
The Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the Mattress Warehouse at 4949 New Design Road at around 3:15 AM for a stabbing. They found a man identified as Franklin Hernandez, 27, of Springfield, Virginia who had been stabbed several times. He was flown by State Police helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
The suspect identified as William Romero-Cortez, 17, of Springfield, Virginia, fled before police arrived, and was apprehended 30 minutes later in a nearby neighborhood. He’s being charged as an adult.
Detectives found a three-inch knife at the scene.
