Two Suspects Charged In April Homicide

Frederick, Md (KM)  Two men have been charged in connection with a homicide in April.  The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says Edward Dwimoh, 18, of Frederick, was served with an arrest early on Thursday.  He is charged with 1st-degree murder for the death of Malaki Tyrelle Cooke, 17, of Brunswick.

Authorities say a second suspect, Tyree Haynes, 20, of Frederick, was already in custody.  He is charged with 1st-degree murder, 2nd-degree murder, and use of a firearm in a felony/violent crime.

Both men are behind bars at the Adult Detention Center.

The Sheriff’s Office says at around 2:00 AM on April 16th, deputies responded to the Country Inn and Suites in the 5200 block of Spectrum Drive for a shots-fired call. They found Cooke dead at the scene.

Using video surveillance and witness accounts, detectives say they were able to identify Dwimoh and Haynes at the suspects.  Both were arrested without incident.
