Hagerstown Police Arrest Shooting Suspect

He’s charged with several offenses, including attempted 1st-degree murder.

Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

1st Degree Assault

2nd Degree Assault

Reckless Endangerment

Illegal Possession of Firearm

Firearm Possession with Felony Conviction

Illegal Possession of Ammo

Handgun on Person

Use of Firearm in Felony Violent Crime

Loaded Handgun on Person

Possession of Stolen Firearm

Police say at around 10:30 PM, officers responded to the area of Wheaton Park on Suman Avenue for a shots-fired incident. They found a 49-year-old man who had been struck in the abdomen. He was taken to Meritus Medical Center for surgery. His condition is not considered life threatening.

Witnesses told officers the shots were fired from a vehicle which left the area. Police say they used surveillance cameras to identify the vehicle and track its location.

Washington County Special Response Team and Hagerstown Police Criminal Investigators entered a home at 103 East Washington Street, and arrested Williams.

Police also recovered a stolen handgun.
