Ft. Detrick has ordered masks be worn at indoor public settings.
Frederick, Md (KM) The transmission rate for COVID-19 in Frederick County is considered “substantial” by the US Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. The News-Post reports that means everyone should be masking up at indoor public settings regardless of their vaccine status.
The state’s mask mandate was lifted earlier this year by Governor Larry Hogan. But masks are recommended for those individuals who have not received their COVID shots.
The Frederick County Health Department says the positivity rate is 4.04% on Tuesday, an increase from 3.38 % on Monday.
Also, the Health Department reports there have been 20,152 cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and 335 deaths. As for vaccinations, 152,377 Frederick County residents have received their shots in the arm, according to the Department, and that’s 58.7% of the population
Meanwhile, Fort Detrick announced on its Twitter page Tuesday that transmission levels have reached substantial levels at its post in Frederick, and the Silver Spring annex. That means masks must be worn at indoor locations regardless of an individual’s vaccination status.
