Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says August is Speed Enforcement Month, and it’s been a busy time so far.
The agency says during the week of August 1st through the 8th, deputies made more than 700 traffic stops with more than 880 violations. In many cases, some traffic stops resulted in multiple violations.
The highest speed recorded was 92-miles per hour in a 70-mile-per-hour zone. The Sheriff’s Office say the “most atrocious” speeding offense was a motorist doing 84-miles-per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone, 29-miles-per-hour more than the posted speed limit.
Drivers are reminded throughout August and other times of the year to slow down and obey all traffic laws.
