Frederick, Md (KM) A national  television program is featuring the case of a missing Frederick teenager. This week, “In Pursuit With John Walsh” will tell the story of Maria Vasquez, 14, who was last seen on July 7th, 2017.

Michelle Sigona, the senior producer for the show, says Maria is an Hispanic girl, 5’1″, 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. “She was last seen wearing Nike Air Force One sneakers. She had on a Puma jacket of sorts at the time,” says Sigona.

At this time, Sigona says, it’s unknown if Maria ran away, or was abducted. “Some of the initial  reports that said she could have been staying with friends. But at this time, she could be anywhere; not just in the Maryland area, but anywhere across the country,” she says.

The program is hosted by John Walsh, the former  host of “America’s Most Wanted..” “‘In Pursuit With John Walsh’ is really John Walsh’s personal mission to help find fugitives and missing children. He’s been doing for more than 35-yeras now, first with the long running show ‘America’s Most Wanted’ for 25 years, and now with ‘In Pursuit,'” says Segona.

Walsh’s son, Adam, was abducted and murdered in 1981. That spurred him to begin his efforts to help bring fugitives to justice, and reunite missing children with their families.

Anyone who has information on Maria’s whereabouts is asked to call the Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-833-378-7783. Your information will be forwarded to investigators and you can remain anonymous.

This segment of “In Pursuit With John Walsh” will air on Wednesday, September 8th at 10:00 PM on Investigation Discovery. It can also be streamed on discovery+.
