The Frederick County Grand Jury on Friday indicted the Republican candidate for Mayor of Frederick for an assault. Steven Lee Hamrick, 35, of Frederick is charged with 1st- and 2nd -degree assault; possessing a firearm with a felony conviction for a violent crime; illegal possession of a regulated firearm; possession of a rifle or shotgun with a conviction for a crime of violence; use of a firearm in a felony or crime of violence; illegal possession of ammunition; and reckless endangerment.
