Reemployment Grant Created To Get Western Marylanders Back To Work

The Washington County Department of Business Development and Western Maryland Consortium partnered.

Hagerstown, Md (NS) A new grant is available for companies in Washington, Allegany, and Garrett counties to help employ residents of Western Maryland.

The Reemployment Grant, which is created by The Western Maryland Consortium and Washington County Department of Business Development, provides up to $25,000 to Western Maryland businesses to hire Marylanders who have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Community businesses across Western Maryland continue to be impacted by the pandemic, and grant programs such as the Reemployment Grant will give them more leverage to supplement new hire wages,” said Linda Spence, Business Specialist with the Washington County Department of Business Development.

The grant can only be applied to new hires from Western Maryland who are unemployed.
