New Platform Set Up For Frederick County Residents To Interact With Local Government

They can file complaints, request information or services.

Frederick, Md (KM) Citizens have a new way to interact with Frederick County Government. “FCG Fix It” was introduced Thursday by County Executive Jan Gardner. “Fix It provides a one-stop place for the public to report concerns, or ask questions of any county government division, and to get a prompt response,” she said.

Some examples include “You can report a dog running loose, a broken swing at a park, or a pothole that needs to be  filled on a particular road,:”: says Gardner. “You can request a tour or a fire station, file a discrimination complaint with the Human Relations Department, or ask for resources to address a behavioral health issue.”

Gardner  says businesses can also  use Fix It. “They can verify county employment, inquire about a bid, or reach out to the Office of Economic Development for assistance,” she says. There are also discussions “about stormwater issues. street sign requests and the list of possibilities goes on and on.”

Residents and business people can access Fix It at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/FCG-Fixit; or through their smart phones. They can download an app for I-Phones from the Google Play Store, and an Android or other app store.. Gardner says these requests, complaints and inquiries will be directed to county employees who will quickly take action.

“So we recognize that there are people who still prefer to ask a question or report a concern over the phone,” says Gardner. “And I want to assure those people that they’ll still be able to talk with a staff person as they’ve always been able to do.”

She says the county and its citizens will benefit from this new customer service tool. “Frederick County Government Fix It creates efficiency, and it helps us to help you,” says Gardner. “It’s all about making sure we deliver good customer service.”
