Leesburg, Va. (KM) A school counselor in Loudon County, Virginia has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a child by a custodian. The Sheriff’s Office says Ann Barrett, 42, of Ashburn turned herself in to the Loudon County Adult Detention Center on Thursday afternoon. .
Authorities say they were made aware of the allegations against Barrett in May of this year after School System officials learned of the inappropriate relationship. The Sheriff’s Office says this inappropriate relationship occurred between 2013 and 2015 when the victim was student at Freedom High School, and Barrett was a counselor.
She has been released on $10,000 secured bond.
