The driver failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road.
Hagerstown, Md. (DG) – A 58-year-old Hagerstown woman has died after a single-vehicle accident Saturday evening on Hopewell Road.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports Kathy Sue Carpenter was driving a Nissan Sentra and failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the road and struck several mailboxes and a tree on Hopewell Road where it passes over Interstate 70.
Carpenter was taken to Meritus Medical Center where she died from her injuries. Her body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
