Crews have constructed two new bridges over the creek.
Frederick, Md (KM) Gas House Pike at the crossing over Linganore Creek is now open to traffic. The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering says the road had been closed since December, 2020 to allow crews to construct two new bridges over the creek, as well roadway bridge approaches, along with paving operations.
The contractor, W.F. Delauter & Son, Inc., replaced the existing bridge with a new 77-foot span concrete bridge. Just to the west, crews replaced a small, existing culvert with a new 52-foot span concrete bridge.
The County says work on the project is still taking place, but it’s near or off the roadway. One-lane closures may take place during the daytime hours to finish the remaining work. Flaggers will be on hand to direct traffic.
The project is expected to be completed by spring, 2022, weather permitting.
