Frederick Man Arrested For Series Of Thefts In The Area

He faces a total of 38 counts.

Frederick, Md (KM) A total of 38 charges have been filed against a Frederick man for several thefts around the region. The Frederick Police have charged Troy Blake Rice, 56, with 15 counts of malicious destruction of property less than $1,000; 15 counts of theft between $100 and $1500; two counts of malicious destruction of property over $1100; one count of malicious destruction of property scheme valued over $1,000; two counts of theft between $1500 to $25,000; one count of theft scheme between $1500 to under $25,000; and two counts of  unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.

The Frederick Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office say between September and November of this year, there were an increased number motor vehicle thefts, attempted motor vehicle thefts and thefts of catalytic converters. Working together, both agencies were able to identify Rice as the suspect.

Frederick Police say they served a search and seizure and warrant on Rice’s home in the 9000 block of Pine Tree Road on December 7th, and located evidence and information linking Rice  to the thefts and other incidents.
