Rowhouse Fire In Frederick Displaces One Adult, One Dog

Another dog perished in the blaze.

Frederick, Md (KM) One adult and a dog were displaced following a rowhouse fire in Frederick Monday morning.

Fire officials say at 10:31 AM, fire fighters were dispatched to the 100 block of Water Street, and saw smoke coming from the front of a row house, and fire in the rear. They requested a Rapid Intervention Dispatch and a second alarm.

About 50 fire fighters from Frederick County and Fort Detrick took 30-minutes to put out the flames. But remained on the scene for an hour to check for extension, extinguish hot spots and perform overhaul.

Two additional rowhouses sustained smoke damage, but the occupants of those units were not displaced.

One dog perished in the fire.

The cause remains under investigation.
