One Dead Following House Fire In Wolfsville

The fire remains under investigation.

Wolfsville, Md (KM)  One person died in a house fire in Wolfsville Wednesday night.

Fire officials say just before 7:00 PM, personnel were dispatched to 10, 848 Gambrill Park Road for a house fire.  Fire fighters arriving on the scene found a home fully  involved in flames.  A Rapid Intervention Dispatch and A Fire Task Force was called out to provide additional personnel.

Crews went to work putting out the flames, and searching for one resident who was unaccounted for.  They rescue that individual from the house,  and performed life-saving measures.  But that individual was pronounced dead at the scene.  That person’s name has not been released.

It took 50 fire fighters 75-minutes to bring the flames under control. They remained at the scene to  check for extension, put out hot spots, and do  overhaul.

12 different fire companies were dispatched to the scene. They were:  Brunswick, Citizens Truck Company, Graceham Volunteer Fire Company, Independent Hose Company, Juniors, Lewistown, Middletown, Myersville, Thurmont, United, Walkersille as well as Wolfsville.
