A cat was found dead at the scene.
Wolfsville, Md (KM) The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the victim of Wednesday’s night fatal house fire in Wolfsville. He’s Frederick Casper Geiger, Jr., age 83.
At around 7:00 PM, fire fighters responded to the 10,800 block of Gambrill Park Road for a house fire with entrapment. .They found the structure fully involved upon arrival.
Fire fighters rescued Geiger from the home while the fire raged, experiencing high heat and limited visibility.. Medics preformed life-saving measures on Geiger, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A cat was also found deceased.
Authorities say the fire did not affect nearby buildings, and there’s no foul play suspected at this time.
Geiger’s body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
