Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Monrovia Man On Weapons Offenses

Authorities say he was manufacturing and selling weapons.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Monrovia man was arrested following search and seizure operations at two addresses in Frederick County on Thursday. Joshua Shay O’Neal, 25, was taken into custody without incident, and charged with possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, and illegal possession of ammunition.

O’Neal is prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior felony convictions for armed robbery and 1st-degree assault following an incident on July 31st, 2017, authorities say.

The Sheriff’s Office says this case came from the Howard County Police Department which had been investigating O’Neal for the manufacture and distribution of homemade firearms. Authorities say an investigation determined O’Neal was making and distributing weapons. “Through this collaborative effort and evidence recovered from the execution of these warrants yesterday {Thursday}, we were able to successfully detain O’Neal and get him off the streets,” says Sgt Jeff Hyatt, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section Property Crimes sergeant, in a statement..

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team says evidence was recovered at homes in the 12400 block of Lee Hill Drive, and the 4900 block of Linganore Woods Road.

After his arrest, O’Neal was taken to the Adult Detention Center.

During their operation, deputies detained Steven Ryan O’Neal, 43, whose wanted on criminal warrants from Carroll County. He was turned over to police in that jurisdiction.
