Suspect Arrested In Dog Statue Vandalism In Downtown Frederick

He has been charged with malicious destruction of property.

Frederick, Md (KM) – Frederick Police have charged a suspect with damaging the dog statue in front of the Federate Charities Building in the downtown. Keith Allen Worthington , 58, of Frederick is charged with malicious destruction of property through a criminal summons.

On Tuesday morning, January 11th, officers responded to the building at 22 North Market Street, where the dog statue had been taken from its platform, and one of its legs was removed. . Through an investigation, police say they identified Worthington as the suspect. They say he damaged the statue and removed it from its platform earlier that morning.

The statue dates back to the 1850’s.
