Attempted Robbery At Ross Department Store In Frederick

The cashier screamed and drove the suspect out of the store.

Frederick, Md. (NS) – A man attempted to rob the Ross Department Store in Frederick Tuesday evening and threatened to shoot the cashier.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responeded at around 9:40 p.m. to the store on Guilford Drive for an armed robbery.

Store employees told police a man tried to rob and threatened to shoot a cashier, but never showed a weapon. When the cashier screamed, the suspect fled. Witnesses say he motioned for a vehicle to pick him up.

The suspect is described as heavy-set, with a black stocking cap, large glasses, a hooded black and grey sweatshirt, and black pants.
