Guns and Drugs Seized During Traffic Stop In Frederick County

Two handguns and 100 grams of marijuana taken

Frederick, Md. (DG) – A traffic stop by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office turned into a seizure of guns and drugs, and two people in handcuffs last week.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a vehicle near Route 75 and Baldwin Road East in Monrovia.

The car was searched and police found two handguns and 100 grams of marijuana. One of the weapons was a GLOCK 44 .22 caliber handgun and the other was a “ghost” Poly 80 handgun.

Jackie Lawson, 20, from Frederick, was charged with possession of a firearm as a minor, loaded handgun in a vehicle, firearm and drug trafficking crime, and handgun in a vehicle.

Henry Dotson, 26, from Gwynn Oak, Maryland, was charged with a handgun on person, a loaded handgun on person, a loaded handgun in a vehicle, and a handgun in a vehicle.

Lawson and Dotson were both taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for booking.
