Schulz Announces Running Mate For Her Gubernatorial Bid

He’s someone who works in state government.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) – Republican Kelly Schulz has announced her running mate in Maryland’s governor’s race. Schulz announced Tuesday that Jeff Woolford will be her candidate for lieutenant governor. Woolford, an Air Force veteran, is an assistant secretary and chief medical officer at the Maryland Department of Health.

Schulz served as Commerce Secretary in Gov. Larry Hogan’s administration. Woolford also has worked in the administration. In addition to the working for the state health department, he was the chief of staff of the Maryland Department of Human Services.

Schulz is running for the GOP nomination against Del. Dan Cox and former state Del. Robin Ficker.

Schulz served as a State Delegate from Frederick County before joining the Hogan Administration.
