Frederick, Md. (KM) – The suspect arrested for shooting two police officers in Frederick earlier this month will remain in jail.
The State’s Attorney’s Office says Dominique Lamarr Lewis, 25, was scheduled to appear on Thursday afternoon for a bond hearing by video-conferencing from the County Adult Detention Center, but he refused to leave his cell, and waived his right to be present at the bond hearing.
District Court Judge Eric Schaffer ordered that Lewis continue to be held without bond
Lewis is charged with two counts each of attempted 1st-degree murder, and attempted 2nd-degree murder for shooting two Frederick Police Officers on Friday, February 11th at the intersection of Key Parkway and Waverly Drive. The two officers returned fire.
All three were flown out to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Officers Bryan Snyder, 43, and Kristen Kowolsky, 32, were released later that day and sent home to recover. Lewis remained in the hospital longer.
