Hagerstown Police Officer Suspended After Striking Scooter

Incident was seen on surveillance footage.

Hagerstown, Md. (NS) – A Hagerstown Police Officer has been suspended after an incident involving a motor scooter.

On Monday, at around 6 p.m., Officers saw a man on a scooter on West Bethel Street drive onto the sidewalk along North Jonathan Street.

Surveillance camera footage shows a police car stopped the scooter by pulling onto the sidewalk, and striking the scooter.

The 34-year-old from Hagerstown who was driving the scooter was transported to Meritus Medical Center for a leg injury.

The officer has been placed on administrative suspension.

The incident is under investigation.
