Man On Motor Scooter Struck By Hagerstown Police Car Expected To Face Charges

The Officer is on administrative leave

Hagerstown, Md. (KM) – The investigation continues into an incident where a Hagerstown Police Officer struck a motor scooter with his patrol car earlier this week. . But authorities have released the name of the motor scooter driver. He’s Glen Edward Bailey, Jr., 34, of Hagerstown whose expected to face traffic charges after the investigation is completed.

The officer is  Timothy Cramer, 32,  whose been with Hagerstown Police for over a year and a half. His police powers have been suspended and he’s on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Police say on Monday evening at around 6:00, they responded to the area of Jonathan Street and Bethel Street where they saw a man riding a motor scooter on the sidewalk. He drove his bike southbound along North Jonathan Street. A police car pulled up on to the sidewalk and struck the scooter. .

Bailey was taken to Meritus Medical Center with a non-life threatening leg injury.
