One Person Dies In Fiery Crash Over The Weekend In Frederick County

Authorities say  the fire destroy any identification of the deceased.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation of a fiery crash early Saturday morning which killed one person.

Authorities say at around 12:45 AM, deputies and fire and rescue responded to the 9600 block of Gas House Pike for a single vehicle accident with the driver being the sole occupant. A 2014 Chrysler 200 was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it went off the right side of the road, struck a tree and caught fire. The operator of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office says the fire destroyed any identification for the driver and Investigators are working to determine the identify the operator.

During the Saint Patrick’s Day Weekend, the Sheriff’s Office says it responded to more than 1560 calls for service, including 283 traffic stops, 39 total arrests ,including seven for driving under the influence.. There were 14 property damage accidents three personal injury crashes, one officer-involved shooting, and the fiery crash on Gas House Pike.
