North Carolina Man Arrested In Frederick For Gun Offenses

He had a loaded handgun inside of a vehicle.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – A Charlotte, North Carolina man was arrested in Frederick early Sunday morning on weapons offenses.

Police say at around 12:40 AM, Hre Thi,. 21, was a passenger in a vehicle which was pulled over along Baughmans Lane and Shookstown Road. An officer noticed missing registration plates.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, and a loaded handgun, drugs and drug paraphernalia were found near Thi who was a rear seat passenger. Officers also found an impact gun, multiple sockets, extensions, a flood jack and sawzall, which are indication of a catalytic converter theft ring.

Thi is charged with having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun in a vehicle, illegal possession of a regulated firearm and possession of ammunition. Thi is prohibited form possessing a firearm, police say. .

He was taken to the Adult Detention Center. .
