Twin Ridge Elementary School Receives Some National Recognition

The school was recently honored by HASBRO, Inc.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – Congratulations go out to Twin Ridge Elementary School. The Frederick County School System says HASBRO, Inc.,  is recognizing Twin Ridge Elementary and four other grade schools around the country for inclusive excellence. HASBRO is a global entertainment company.

Last year, Twin Ridge Elementary received national recognition from Special Olympics for the School’s efforts to provide inclusive sports for children with and without disabilities. On Friday, March 25th Twin Ridge Elementary will be celebrating with HASBRO and Special Olympics. Each students will receive a gift form HASBRO and engage in some inclusive programs.

“The amount of pride that I have in our students, families and staff for working to create a school environment where inclusivity, leadership and engagement of all students is held in such a high regard is immeasurable,” says Heather Hobbs, Principal of Twin Elementary School, in a statement. “Their commitment of using art, music and physical education as a vehicle to communicate and gain understanding of all students is at the core of what we believe in as a school.”

The school has been awarded a grant of  $5,000  to support its Unified Champions Club.
