Citizens can show up in person at Winchester Hall to testify on Tues. night.
Frederick, Md. (KM) – Citizens have the chance to comment this evening (Tues) on an ordinance to set up a Police Accountability Board in Frederick County. The County Council will hold a hearing in the first floor meeting room at Winchester Hall beginning at 7:00 PM.
The panel would receive complaints about police misconduct, and would also appoint members of a charging committee which would review the investigation into complaints about police officers and determine whether those officers should be administratively charged.
State law requires the county to set a police accountability board. It be established by July 1st.
Members of the public can testify at the hearing in person at Winchester Hall. But those who want to continuing offering their comments remotely can still do so. They can call toll free at 1-885-925-2801, and press meeting code 8365. Residents can leave a voice mail message or go into a queue and speak in person.
