Fire Damages Building In Union Bridge

The cause has been labeled accidental.

Union, Bridge, Md. (KM) – A fire in Union Bridge Monday evening caused $5,000 damage to a two-story building.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says at 10:16 PM, fire fighters were called out for a structure fire in the 100 block of South Main Street. . 20 fire fighters spent 20-minutes bringing the flames under control. No one was injured.

Investigators say the fire originated on an exterior porch, and is ruled accidental due to improperly discarded smoking materials.

The fire was discovered by a neighbor.

The primary responding fire department was the Union Bridge Volunteer Fire Company.
