Part Of Rt. 144 In Frederick County Will Be Closed Beginning On Wednesday At Noon

MDOT SHA says the closure will last four weeks.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – A 1,000-foot section of eastbound Route 144 between the I-70 overpass and Ijamsville Road in Frederick County will be closed beginning on Wednesday at 12:00 PM The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says the closure is necessary to complete pipe installation along Route 144 for the eastbound I-70 ramp, and connect the new ramp to Route 144.

The closure is expected to last four weeks.

Motorists will be detoured.. The contractor, Kinsley Construction, will use electronic signs, cones and barrels to alert motorist about the road closure,  and guide motorists through the detour. Emergency vehicles will still have access through the temporary closure, says MDOT SHA.

I-70 traffic will not be affected by this closure.
