Route 75 Bridge Over Interstate 70 To Be Rehabbed

Crews will work for a year to replace the bridge deck.

New Market, Md. (NS) – New Market residents may see some delays over the next year as crews will work to repair the Route 75 bridge over Interstate 70.

ShanteƩ Felix, spokeswoman for the State Highway Administration (SHA), said workers will replace the bridge deck, paint, and make repairs to the concrete supports.

“We do expect to be doing some overnight demolition work, but that will be something that we notify the public in advance through our traffic alerts and social media,” said Felix.

She said the road will always maintain two travel lanes during construction.

If you want to check on any possible roadwork delays during your drive, SHA has an online resource available.

“We always encourage people before they leave their house to go to md511.maryland.gov and put in their route and they can see any real-time impacts that can effect their travel to work or school or wherever they’re headed to,” Felix explained.

She encourages motorists to have extra caution whenever driving through work zones.
