2023 Community Partnership Grant Awards Announced By Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner

$1,000,000 in grants were awarded.

Frederick, Md. (NS) – $1 million of Community Partnership Grants were announced Tuesday by Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner.

These grants have been awarded to various human service nonprofits in the community for the past seven years.

“Nonprofit human service groups in Frederick County are asked each fall to propose how they could meet community needs in one of three key priority areas: housing, seniors, and community needs. Those three priority areas have remained the same over the past seven years. Grants can be used for a one-time purchase, or for an ongoing program, or for both,” said Gardner.

This year, 29 grants were presented to 27 nonprofits.

“These grants will provide food to school children who otherwise would not have meals on weekends or during school breaks, crisis services to residents who are facing overwhelming circumstances like addiction or suicidal thoughts,” she explained.

Other grants were awarded to promote life skills for youth who face homelessness, provide resources to families who have been displaced by house fires, and other causes.

Funding for these grants comes from the County Executive’s proposed budget which is being considered by the County Council.
