One Lane Of Monocacy Blvd Closed Due To A Nearby Sinkhole

Frederick City officials say the sinkhole is not in the road.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – One lane of westbound Monocacy Boulevard between South Street and the ramp to Interstate 70 is closed. Frederick City officials say it’s expected to be closed for the next week or two due a sinkhole near the road.

The sinkhole is not in the roadway, officials say, but the city is taking this precautionary measure because the sinkhole is in a drainage swale.

Motorists are expected to experience delays in this area until the road is reopened.
