Police Investigate Possible Shooting On Maryland Highway

An occupant of a vehicle was grazed on the chin.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) – Police are investigating after a possible shooting on a Maryland highway. Maryland Transportation Authority Police say they received a report of a minivan that may have been struck by gunfire early Monday along the Intercounty Connector in Montgomery County.

Responding officers found a Toyota Sienna van stopped near the Shady Grove Road exit. Police say the driver heard a loud noise and saw a flash from a black sedan that pulled alongside the van. Then a passenger in the second row of the van indicated they had been struck by something.

Police say responding officers identified evidence suggesting the van had been struck by gunfire and the passenger was grazed on the chin.
